Do not ask me why the above incidents – the assault on a pickup truck bearing a red-cross logo, police beating of protesters and the finding of live ammunition, and others – were not reported on the government’s free-to-air TV channels. You know the reason already.
The violence perpetrated by the angry protesters is also to be condemned. The beating up of a taxi driver who protested against protesters’ blocking of Vibhavadi-Rangit Road is totally against the protesters’ declared credo of peaceful demonstration. It should not have happened, and should not be repeated.
The turbulence at the youth centre in Din Daeng was not unexpected. The Election Commission had already warned the caretaker government and suggested that the Feb 2 elections be postponted, but it was ignored by the government, of course.
